After the rampant success of the film adaption to Stephen King’s It last fall, audiences have been salivating for better reboots of all his classic horror novels turned movies. Move over Pennywise, here comes Pet Sematary with the new poster for the film and some first look images, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
Based on the original novel and film by Stephen King, Pet Sematary is about a doctor who moves his family to the country for a simpler life. Soon, the Creed family learn that the land their home sits on is full of secrets like harboring a hidden burial ground. It doesn’t take long for tragedy to strike the family and the good doctor has is forced to make some tough decisions. With the help of his neighbor, Dr. Creed makes choices that have irrevocable consequences.
Stephen King’s novel Pet Sematary was published in 1983 with the original film to follow in 1989. Although the original film has a large cult following, Paramount Pictures decided it was time to create a new adaption that may receive better critical acclaim. Directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch are using the script written by Jeff Buhler. Joining the production are producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and Steven Schneider.
The film stars Jason Clarke, John Lithgow and Amy Seimetz.
