Priscilla, Sofia Coppola’s newest film about Priscilla Beaulieu and Elvis Presley, has a deal with Mubi for the rights for distribution and streaming after the film’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Mubi, according to Deadline, will “retain all rights in the UK, Germany, Austria, Latin America, Benelux, and Turkey.”
The source continues that there are plans for theatrical releases in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Latin America, Belgium, and the Netherlands in 2023. As for the rest of the world, The Match Factory is a part of the distribution everywhere except North America and Italy. The film has been pre-sold to A-24 in North America and Vision Distribution in Italy.
The film is based on the memoir Elvis and Me by Priscilla Presley herself, along with Sandra Harmon, detailing her tumultuous and complicated relationship with the King of Rock and Roll. It stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis.
This isn’t Mubi’s only involvement with the Venice Film Festival productions this year. Memory by Michel Franco and Gasoline Rainbow by Turner Ross are premiering through Mubi.
