Snow White co-stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot reportedly have tension as the film’s release draws closer. While it appears that the feud from their characters (Zegler as Snow White and Gadot as the Evil Queen) has been brought into the real world, a source told PEOPLE that the two don’t get along simply because they have nothing in common.
The source explained how Zegler, 23, has nearly nothing in common with Gadot, a 39-year-old mother of four. “On top of that, their political views differ, adding to the tension,” the source said. Gadot, who was born in Israel and served in the Israeli military, has openly advocated for her people and country throughout the Israel-Hamas war. Meanwhile, Zegler has continued to be outspoken about her support for Palestine.
In addition to their opposing political stances, Gadot is also reportedly “annoyed by the movie drama,” that Zegler has brought upon her involvement in Snow White. Per another source that spoke with PEOPLE, Gadot did not agree with how Zegler slammed the original version of Snow White. In 2022 Zeglar told Variety, “There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time. I was scared of the original version. I think I watched it once and never picked it up again.” According to the second source, “Gal’s attitude is that you don’t criticize and cause drama for a project you signed on to do. She just doesn’t get it. [Gadot] enjoyed filming. She was fine with Rachel, but they are not friends…They did a job together and that’s it.”
In response to Zegler’s candid opinions, Disney chiefs have directed her to, “tone down her posts,” a movie insider recently told Page Six. “They’ve called her management, but she won’t listen. It’s been this way the entire way through filming. But it’s the tying of her politics to ‘Snow White’ that is upsetting,” the insider said.
The infamous feud between Snow White and the Evil Queen continues as Marc Webb’s Snow White makes its way to the big screen on March 21.
