MGM released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming animated Addams Family film. The trailer opens with the Addams family residing in their original home, which seems to be constantly bombarded by darkness, thunderstorms, and bats. While it’s comfortable living for them, the family suddenly decides to move to a suburb in New Jersey. Now, the creepy family must adjust to a different type of normal that doesn’t appear to accommodate their style of living. They must also face Margaux Needler, a T.V. host hell bent on getting rid of the Addams Family. Fortunately, the family is not ready to leave without a fight.
This animated film currently holds a star-studded voice cast. Oscar Isaac will be voicing Gomez, the patriarch of the family, while Charlize Theron will voice his beloved spouse Morticia. The two misfit children, Wednesday and Pugsley, will be respectively played by Chloe Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard. The rest of the voice cast includes Allison Janney, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dog, Bette Midler, Elsie Fisher and Aimee Garcia. Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan co-directed the film.
Originally beginning as a series of New Yorker comics, past adaptations of the Addams Family include various television series, animated shows and several films. The film is set to premiere on October 11. Watch the trailer below.
