‘Smile’ Sequel Adds Dylan Gelula To Its Cast

Dylan Gelula has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures’ untitled sequel to Smile. The 2022 horror thriller directed and written by Parker Finn was an unexpected box office hit after being originally slated for a streaming release on Paramount +.

No new plot details have been released, including the roles the actors will be playing. Other cast members that have been announced include Naomi Scott, Lukas Gage, Kyle Gallner, and Rosemarie DeWitt.

Finn will once again be directing and writing the film. Temple Hill will be producing the project. It is slated for release on October 18, 2024, and will be competing with an unnamed title from Universal Pictures that will be released the same day.

The first film in the developing franchise had success in theaters, grossing over 217 million dollars worldwide. It followed a psychiatrist, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon), as she became convinced there was an evil entity threatening her, after witnessing a traumatic incident involving a patient.

Gelula has most recently been seen in the A24 comedy, Dream Scenario, where she starred alongside Nicolas Cage. She has also starred in films such as Cooper Raiff’s Shithouse and Jeff Baena’s Horse Girl, and a few TV shows, notably Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt, where she played the teenage daughter of ultra-wealthy parents.

Gelula is repped by Gersh, Mosaic, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
