After first dealing with delays due to the writer’s and actor’s strikes last year, a celebration of actor Robert De Niro is once again being postponed.
“De Niro Con” is an event that was supposed to celebrate the life, career, and 80th birthday of the actor but was rescheduled for April of this year after the strikes. However, it has now been delayed til June 14-16, which is the ending weekend of the Tribeca Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The latest delay was for the purpose of allowing more attendees and supporters of De Niro to take part in the event. The actual Tribeca Festival will be held on June 5-16.
With one of the aspects being a focus on De Niro’s birthday, the new date is closer to his 81st birthday than his 80th, as he was born on Aug. 17, 1943.
The Tribeca Festival was also co-created by De Niro, alongside Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff back in 2001. The festival was created to revitalize the economy of New York after the attacks on the World Trade Center, according to the festival’s official about section.
With over 125 acting credits to his name, according to IMDb, De Niro’s career is truly prolific. He has also done a lot for the industry by showing off the talents of those who love film.
