Six more actors are the latest addition to Steven Spielberg’s next film. Spielberg has chosen a bevy of performers to star in his somewhat autobiography film The Fabelmans.
Mateo Zoryon, Francis-DeFord, Keeley Karsten, Birdie Borria, Alina Brace, and Sophia Kopera are on board to join the film about the aspiring filmmaker that is Spielberg.
Before the new cast members were announced, however, Gabriel Bateman, Gustavo Escobar, Nicolas Cantu, Cooper Dodson, Lane Factor, and Stephen Smith were reported to be playing friends loosely based on Spielberg’s real-life friends.
The newest members join previously announced stars Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, Gabriel LaBelle, Judd Hirsch, Sam Rechner, and Oakes Fegley. Such an A-list cast of actors these new stars to get to work with.
The Fabelmans will be Francis-DeFord’s debut into acting, and he gets to play the young aspiring filmmaker at the core of his very early years. The other actors that were announced will portray the filmmaker’s siblings at various phases of their life.
Spielberg and Tony Kushner collaborated on the script. The Fabelmans will be the first time since 2001’s A.I. that Spielberg will help with the writing of a film. The upcoming film will be the first time Spielberg will provide true insight into his early years that wasn’t in a documentary.
The Fabelmans is currently filming, with a released planned for 2022.
