

Michael B. Jordan has been selected to receive the 39th American Cinematheque Award at an upcoming Beverly Hills gala ceremony. American Cinematheque has the following mission statement:
The American Cinematheque believes that cinema is a communal experience with the power to entertain, enlighten and inspire. We build a diverse and engaged film community through immersive film curation, conversation, and presentation. We bridge the filmmaker to the audience and film history to its future.
The award, set to be given on November 20th, honors Jordan’s career, from his early roles in Friday Night Lights and Parenthood to his more recent roles in the Creed films, Black Panther, and Sinners.
American Cinematheque chair Rick Nicita announced the selection of Jordan for the award, saying:
The career of Michael B. Jordan has been an unparalleled showcase for the combination of superb talent and purposeful vision that has made him a major power in today’s movie business.
Particular emphasis was placed on the talent Jordan displayed in the recent hit film Sinners, where he played not one, but two characters. You can view the full trailer for Sinners here.
