‘Shazam’ Finally Shows Off More Action in New Trailer

With the first trailer for the highly anticipated DC film being released during Comic Con 2018, fans have been curious as to why there has yet to have been another trailer released for Shazam. There was only a single Comic Con trailer despite 2018 having ended and the first three months of 2019 already passed. But now with only a month left until its official release, Shazam finally has a new trailer.

The trailer starts out with a quick recap as to how Billy Batson became the superhero that is Shazam (Zachary Levi). Shortly after an impressive shot of Billy jumping off a building rooftop and turning into Shazam, we get a montage of Shazam and his friend showing off his new powers. Some moments were seen in the previous trailer like him fighting some criminals at a convenience store but there are also new moments like when he uses his electricity powers. All of Shazam’s antics are set to Eminem’s My Name is and is fitting music for this second Shazam trailer.

The last few moments of the trailer exhibit Shazam fighting off Doctor Sivana, played by Mark Strong, and even showcases him saving a bus falling off of a bridge. The trailer concludes with a comedic more where Shazam tries to do a high jump onto the top of a building, as seen in other Superhero movies, only for him to crash into the building, where he is met by screaming people. Overall, the trailer showcases what seems to be a fun-filled romp in the DC Universe which many critics have stated is what DC needs for their cinematic universe to be successful.

Shazam will release on April 5, 2019. Watch the Full Trailer Below:

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
