‘Shang-Chi’ Director Destin Daniel Cretton Now Attached To Direct ‘Spider-Man 4’

Following in the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a fourth film for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was confirmed very soon after it was released. After some time trying to lock down a story, the yet untitled fourth Spider-Man has locked down a director in the form of Destin Daniel Cretton.

Hollywood Reporter initially broke the news of Cretton taking up Spider-Man 4.

Cretton isn’t a stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by this point. He’s responsible for the 2021 installment Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, which saw Simu Liu take up the titular role of Shang Chi for his first film appearance.

Cretton has also worked on Wonder Man, an upcoming series for Disney+ based on the comic character.

ComicBook.com notes that very little is known as to the actual story of Spider-Man 4 currently. All that is known to fans of the wall crawler is that Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker, but many people have been speculating on how the story will progress for him.

However, ComicBook.com did also note that Spider-Man 4 goes into production come 2025, which could put its release right on track to be in the midst of projects connecting to Doctor Doom and the Secret Wars story that’s been promised to be adapted. But, whether or not it will tie-in has not been confirmed yet.
