Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick’s upcoming comedy Babies has found its U.S. distributors ahead of its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
According to Deadline, Roadside Attractions and Vertical have acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the movie. The film is directed by Lauren Miller Rogen and is scheduled to have its world premiere at TIFF on September 12.
Babies follows Annie and Aaron, a married couple who have been together for 17 years but have never decided whether they want to have children. Their lives take an unexpected turn when their divorced friend Eliza and her young daughter move in with them.
Living under the same roof gives Annie and Aaron a much closer look at what raising a child could be like. It also forces the couple to think about a decision they have managed to avoid for years.
Rogen and Kendrick lead the cast alongside Issa Rae, Dan Stevens, Kate Berlant, Zach Cherry, Ed Helms, Ashley Park, Sharon Stone, and David Strathairn.
Lauren Miller Rogen wrote and directed the movie, making the project a personal one for the filmmaker. She also previously directed Like Father, and Babies marks another feature from her behind the camera.
The film will make its world premiere at TIFF before heading toward a planned theatrical release in 2027. The acquisition gives Babies a U.S. home before audiences even get their first look at the movie.
