Mark Ruffalo (Begin Again) and Zoe Saldana (Avatar) star in the family drama Infinitely Polar Bear, which premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival. Told in the style of a childhood memoir, the film follows two young sisters in the 1970s who are put under the care of their bi-polar father (Ruffalo), as their mother (Saldana) leaves for business school in New York. Written and directed by Maya Forbes (Monsters vs. Aliens), the story tackles the daily struggles of the new American nuclear family – in this case involving a bi-racial couple and the effects of mental illness on loved ones. Sony Pictures Classics will be handling distribution, and will release the movie in theaters March 26th.
