Viggo Mortensen (A History of Violence) stars in the indie drama Captain Fantastic, a story following a father and his six children living in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest as they attempt to rejoin society.
Written and directed by actor Matt Ross (HBO’s Silicon Valley), the film also features Missi Pyle (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Kathryn Hahn (Our Idiot Brother), George MacKay (How I Live Now), and Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club).
The exclusive images from comingsoon.net reveal the possibility of both serious and light-hearted elements to the film– a side uncharacteristic of Mortensen’s typically dark roles (i.e. The Road or Eastern Promises). Captain Fantastic is expected for a 2015 theatrical release. Until then, Mortensen will be working on making his directing debut with the drama The Horsecatcher.
