Deadline reports that Sony Pictures released a new trailer for Uncharted, the film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s iconic PlayStation video game that follows the adventures of thief and treasure hunter Nathan Drake.
Tom Holland, who’s currently taking over the box office with Spider-Man: No Way Home, plays the film’s main character in the action-adventure. Uncharted debuts in movie theaters on February 18, 2022. Ruben Fleischer directs and Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway pen the script.
Seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) recruits Drake to recover Ferdinand Magellan’s 500-year-old lost fortune. What begins as a heist job becomes a race to reach the treasure before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. Nate and Sully could claim a$5 billion prize if they decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries. Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle also star in the pic.
Uncharted has been a long time coming, facing several previous delays due to Holland’s Spider-Man schedule and COVID-19. Fans of the game and Holland can now finally look forward to Holland’s portrayal of Drake in the near future.
Be sure to check out the trailer below and watch Uncharted in theaters next year on February 18.
