Screen Company Adds New Screen Release Branch

The Screen Company, a production company based in the US, is expanding its horizons. They’ve added a branch to help handle distribution within the States.

Reportedly, the position of Chief Operating Officer is being filled by Mike Rose. As Deadline points out, Rose will be on board with taking care of acquisitions that come the company’s way.

Rose has prior experience with bigger companies as well, such as Miramax and Disney.

The actual branch they’ve created, Screen Release, heads up partnerships and acquisitions, as well as bringing on a healthy variety of works.

Deadline also noted that this comes in the wake of the formation of Screen Fund, a financial offshoot of Screen Company.

The head of Screen Company, David Brown, stated that with this development, he strives to be on the same ground as the filmmakers. He went as far as to say that he feels “distributors should be your partners in business.”

“We will never package your film with another title to offset potential losses. We don’t believe in ‘studio accounting.’ We prioritize transparency in financials and will pay out filmmakers’ revenue shares on a nightly basis once funds have been received from exhibitors,” he said.
