Awards for film, television, and anime will be voted on by a collection of Valnet critics, editors, and entertainment specialists. Daily features will be published on ScreenRant to highlight each category, with coverage to be blasted across Valnet’s expansive social media network.
Starting with the best in film and television, the nominees for Best Picture for the inaugural Screen Awards includes: One Battle After Another, Marty Supreme, Sinners, Sentimental Value, and Weapons. On the smaller screen, the nominees for Best Television Series includes: Pluribus, The Pitt, Severance, Task, and Andor.
Moving on to performances in film, the nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role includes: Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), Jesse Plemons (Bugonia), and Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams). For Best Actress in a Leading Role, the lineup includes: Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Jesse Buckley (Hamnet), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
Supporting our leads in these films and many others, the nominees for Best Actor in a Supporting Role includes: Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Benicio Del Toro (One Battle After Another), Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value), Paul Mescal (Hamnet), and Sean Penn (One Battle After Another). Best Actress in a Supporting Role sees a lineup of: Amy Madigan (Weapons), Regina Hall (One Battle After Another), Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another), Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners), and Ariana Grande (Wicked: For Good). One Battle After Another is the only film that received nominations in every performer category, even earning 2 in supporting for both actor and actress.
The best director category will be up for grabs amongst 5 individuals who each played a hand in assisting at least one performer in their film in earning some type of nomination. The lineup for the Best Director award includes: Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another), Ryan Coogler (Sinners), Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value), Chloé Zhao (Hamnet), and Zach Cregger (Weapons).
On the television side, Best Actress in a TV Series includes nominations for: Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus), Britt Lower (Severance), Jean Smart (Hacks), Michelle Williams (Dying for Sex), and Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us). The nominees for Best Actor in a TV Series are: Seth Rogen (The Studio), Adam Scott (Severance), Noah Whyle (The Pitt), Tim Robinson (The Chair Company), and Ethan Hawke (The Lowdown).
Sticking with television, the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series includes: Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt), Fiona Duorif (The Pitt), Patricia Arquette (Severance), Carrie Coon (The White Lotus), and Erin Doherty (Adolescence). Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series sees nominations for: Sam Rockwell (The White Lotus), Owen Cooper (Adolescence), John Turturro, Tramell Tillman, and Zach Cherry all for their performances in Severance. Rounding out the television category is the award for Best New Tv Series. The nominees are Pluribus, The Pitt, The Studio, Task, and The Chair Company.
The Screen Awards also wanted to ensure to recognize anime as a major medium, covering the best in film and television. The nominees for Best Anime Film includes: 100 Meters, Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, KPop Demon Hunters, Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle, and Scarlet. Best Anime Series sees nominations for: The Apothecary Diaries, The Summer Hikaru Died, City The Animation, Solo Leveling, and Gachiakuta.
