Scott Derrickson is getting himself ready to begin directing The Gorge from Skydance. The script to The Gorge was acquired by Skydance from Zach Dean, the writer of the sci-fi film The Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt. Derrickson’s company, Crooked Highway, will join Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger as producers. C. Robert Cargill and Sherryl Clark will also be produced along with Dean and Adam Kolbrenner.
Skydance has yet to share the plot of The Gorge and only is dubbed as a love story with high action involved in the film.
This summer, Derrickson’s upcoming thriller movie The Black Phone is set in a suburban Colorado town in 1978, where five children have gone missing, and it stars Ethan Hawke. Derrickson signed on to direct The Black Phone after his announcement to leave Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness because of different creative ideas with Marvel Studios in 2021.
Derrickson’s upcoming movie The Black Phone will have its theatrical debut on June 24, 2022.
