San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner and distributors will but putting out their big guns awaiting salivation from attendees. The full schedule of movie events at this year’s convention is taking shape and looking like quite an impressive selection. Check out the key events happening at this year’s Comic-Con.
THURSDAY, JULY 21st
10:00 AM – DreamWorks Animation Panel – Hall H
- Chris Hardwick moderates a special panel plugging the new animated feature Trolls. Voice actors Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, director Mike Mitchell, co-director Walt Dohrn and producer Gina Shay are all expected to appear.
11:00 AM – The 4th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero – Indigo Ballroom/Hilton San Diego Bayfront
- Behind-the-scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never before heard music. Participating composers: Henry Jackman, Tom “Junkie XL” Holkenborg, John Ottman, Blake Neely.
11:45 AM – Snowden Panel in Hall H
- Featuring new footage from Oliver Stone’s upcoming Edward Snowden biopic. Director Stone and star Joseph Gordon-Levitt expected for a live conversation for the Open Road release.
12:30 PM – Moana: Art of Story – Room 6A
- Behind-the-scenes panel for Disney’s upcoming animated feature with directors Ron Clements and John Musker.
1:00 PM – Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Panel – Hall H
- New footage expected to be shown from Luc Besson’s upcoming science fiction film. Besson, producer Virginie Besson-Silla, and stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne expected to be in attendance.
5:45 PM – Sausage Party Filmmaker Conversation – Horton Grand Theater
- Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg their latest project – the world’s first R-rated CG animated comedy. Pre-party and screening at Horton Plaza.
FRIDAY, JULY 22nd
1:00 PM – Captain America: Civil War Screenwriting Q&A – Horton Grand Theater
- Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely discuss adapting the beloved comic tale into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
4:00 PM – Revengeance with Bill Plympton & Jim Lujan – Room 23ABC
- Bill Plympton and writer Jim Lujan preview their new animated feature with finished clips. Discussion of the production process from raising funds via Kickstarter to plans for distribution.
9:00 PM – Batman: The Killing Joke World Premiere – Ballroom 20
- The latest DC Universe Original Movie, an R-rated, feature-length animated film centering on the Joker, is based on one of the bestselling graphic novels of all time. Panelists: Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Ray Wis as Commissioner James Gordon, director Sam Liu and writer Brian Azzarello.
SATURDAY, JULY 23rd
11:30 AM – Warner Bros. Presentation – Hall H
Warner Bros. is pulling out the stops touting six films at this year’s Comic-Con along with some major starpower. Here’s a breakdown of said films and who is expected to attend:
