Searchlight Pictures has released the first official trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The film once again follows Grace (Samara Weaving), this time in a new, larger game of hide-and-seek. Picking up just minutes after the events of the first film, Grace gets dragged into a new game, one that “goes far beyond [that family].” The game of hide-and-seek includes high council families, and they all will compete to kill Grace. In the trailer, they say, “Whoever wins runs everything…the world.”

In the first film, Grace was all by herself in the game against her in-laws. Now, she has a partner in the game. The high council families kidnapped her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) and have forced her to play along. In the trailer, Faith says, “I can’t believe you dragged me into this shit.” The later parts of the trailer show plenty of blood, guts and violence, promising a massacre on the same scale as the first film. Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton serve as the hunted in this film, but the hunters are made up of a variety of new faces. These include Elijah Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Durand, David Cronenberg, Olivia Cheng and more.

The film has no set release date as of now, but it is planned to release sometime next year. It was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the first film, and was written by Guy Busick (Scream 5) and R. Christopher Murphy, both of whom worked on the first film.
