Studiocanal is producing the picture alongside Alison Owen and Debra Hayward, alongside Tracey Seaward. Exact plot details are scarce, but the casting process is officially soon to be underway in their search for someone who can play the enigmatic singer.
The Grammy-winning artist is most known for her sophomore album Back to Black, which included chart-dominating records such as “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good.” The singer, who battled drug and alcohol addiction, died at age 27 from alcohol poisoning.
Back to Black is not the first on screen depiction of the singer’s life.
