Production continues across the United Kingdom on Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions’ ambitious four-film cinematic event chronicling The Beatles, with cast members recently spotted recreating the iconic opening sequence from the 1964 musical comedy A Hard Day’s Night. On-set images captured Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), and Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) staging the famous sequence originally directed by Richard Lester, which depicts the musicians fleeing through streets and train stations to evade swarms of screaming fans. The sighting follows location shoots last month in London, where the quartet—joined by Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney—recreated the legendary 1969 zebra-crossing album cover outside Abbey Road Studios.
Directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes (1917, American Beauty), the interconnected four-feature project tells the synchronized story of the Fab Four, with each standalone film framed entirely from the perspective of a single band member. Mendes directs from screenplays penned by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne. The ensemble cast includes Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Beatles manager Brian Epstein, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd. The supporting roster also features Harry Lloyd as legendary producer George Martin, David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, Leanne Best as Mimi Smith, Bobby Schofield as Neil Aspinall, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, and Adam Pally as Allen Klein.
