Due to the continuous actors’ strike and the current firing in LA, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, SAG Awards, is still planning to refrain from the usual in-person nomination announcements this year. Thus, the decision comes as the industry continues to wrestle with the continuous fires spreading all over LA which now affecting both productions and events across Hollywood.
Originally, the SAG Awards in-person event was scheduled at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, and the nominations will not be revealed on Instagram Live on Friday, January 10th. This reflects the industry’s adaptations that continue as wildfire challenges are still going on. Deadline reported, “We look forward to celebrating these incredible actors and their work at the SAG Awards ceremony on February 23. In the meantime, we urge everyone to stay safe, and thank you for your continued support.”
This 30th Annual SAG Award ceremony will be held on February 24th, 2025, and will be on a live broadcast from Shrine Auditorium. Netflix will also be streaming the ceremony live on their YouTube channel which has become a new partnership from last year.
In-person nominations announcements will be missed in the traditional SAG Awards tradition but they remain a critical part of Hollywood’s awards calendar.
