With the news of Stranger Things star Sadie Sink joining Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Secret Wars, the rumors have not stopped flowing.

Sink has been part of the Spider-Man cast for a while, but news of who she will be portraying is still under wraps, fueling the rumors even more. She told Entertainment Weekly, “A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but yeah, I understand all of the theories.”

Sink is giving fans no hints about who she’s playing. “People will just have to wait and see. I’m excited for all of it to maybe be put to rest,” she said.

The largest rumor in the Marvel rumor mill is that Sink is playing X-Men member Jean Grey. However, Sink said, “That was happening before I even knew that I would be working on this project. I was like, ‘Wait! What are people talking about?”

Sink will join a star-studded cast of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, and Zendaya as MJ. The supporting cast members include Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan aka Scorpion and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman’s roles are currently undisclosed.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is set to release in December of the following year.
