Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has been confirmed to star in the upcoming Spider-Man film from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Spider-Man 4 has kept its production close to the chest up until now, with the only other cast publicly known being Tom Holland and Zendaya. The film is scheduled for late 2026, with filming to begin this fall once Tom Holland and Zendaya finish filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Deadline reported that Sadie Sink would be joining the cast, although it is not confirmed who she will be playing. There are two popular theories at the moment. One option is Peter’s love interest, Mary Jane Watson. While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man already has an MJ in Zendaya, her character is notably named Michelle Jones-Watson. Most people just assumed she was an alternate take on the character, but it is entirely possible that Sadie Sink will play the real MJ. Considering that the whole world has forgotten his identity, a fresh start with a fresh MJ may be in the cards for Peter.
The other possible character Sink could be playing is the X-Man Jean Grey. Spider-Man is not specifically known for teaming up with X-Men often, but they both reside in the state of New York. Casting rumors for a Marvel Studios X-Men film have been swirling for months. Some names thrown out have been Harris Dickinson as Cyclops, Julia Butters as Kitty Pryde, Jesse Plemons as Beast, and Sadie Sink as Jean Grey. It would be an odd choice to introduce a major X-Men character in a Spider-Man film but considering the casting rumors lining up with this film casting, it is a possibility.
Spider-Man 4 is still in pre-production, so it is more than likely that other casting announcements will come out in the coming months. Check back in for more news on Spider-Man and maybe even X-Men.
