Russo Brothers Not Directing ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

It is well known that a key ingredient in the success of the MCU is the directing efforts of the Joe and Anthony Russo. However, according to Marvel kingpin Kevin Feige the Russo Brothers are not going to be helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Kevin Feige told Deadline that “They’re not connected to it. They’ve been very direct about that. We love them, they love us. We want to find something to do together, it’s not this.” There have been no announcements so far as to who will be helming the projects, but it is known that the Russos can’t commit to the MCU because of 3 future projects holding their time and energy.

The Russos directed to of the biggest films ever made in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame with combined made more than $4B. Unfortunately, it looks like they can’t finish where they started with the end of the MCU coming alongside the Secret Wars arc.

As for the Russos, their newest release is Netflix’s The Gray Man, with Ryan Gosling starring. The series came out yesterday to generally positive reviews.
