Russell Brand has been charged with two additional counts of alleged rape and alleged sexual assault, U.K. authorities confirmed. The Get Him to the Greek star had been previously charged with alleged rape and other alleged sexual offenses involving four women in April 2025. A verdict has not been reached on these cases.
The London Metropolitan Police launched its investigation into Brand two years ago following an investigation by Channel 4’s Dispatches and the Sunday Times. That reporting uncovered allegations connected to Brand’s alleged conduct during his involvement in various media projects.
In a statement, police declared: “The Met’s investigation remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward and speak with police.”
According to investigators, the two new charges stem from alleged incidents in 2009 involving two separate women. The earlier allegations date back to alleged incidents between 1999 and 2005.
Brand has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 20 in connection with the new charges, while a trial related to the earlier charges is set to begin at Southwark Crown Court on June 16.
Following the original charges, Brand said he had been “a fool” and a sex addict in his younger days, but denied ever committing rape.
