Russell Crowe Joins ‘Kraven The Hunter’

Russell Crowe has been cast in an unspecified role in the upcoming film: Kraven The Hunter. Crowe joins Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will be portraying the title role of Kraven, who is one of the deadliest villains in the Spider-Man world. Although Kraven the Hunter appears in Marvel comics, the film is not officially set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is one of the characters that fall under the licensing deal between Marvel and Sony. Things in the Spider-Man universe have become much more lucrative after No Way Home became a box-office monster.

Crowe’s first step into the comic book movie world. He played Jor-El, Superman’s dad, in 2013’s Man of Steel. He will also make his appearance in the MCU as Zeus in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. 

The film is being directed by J.C. Chandor, who previously helmed Triple Frontier and All is Lost. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are acting as producers, with a screenplay written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.

Crowe is currently busy directing and starring in Poker Face alongside Liam Hemsworth and RZA and starring in Peter Farrelly’s The Greatest Beer Run Ever for Apple TV plus.

Kraven The Hunter is set for a theatrical release on January 13, 2023.
