Rosamund Pike, Oscar-nominated for her turn in 2014’s Gone Girl, has landed her latest high-profile role. She’s set to appear opposite Jon Hamm in the upcoming political thriller High Wire Act.
Hamm – fresh off his Best Actor Emmy nomination for the final season of AMC’s Mad Men – will play U.S. diplomat Mason Skiles, who is called back into service to save a former colleague from the group possibly responsible for his own family’s death. Pike joins as a CIA agent tasked with keeping him alive long enough for the mission to succeed.
Brad Anderson (The Machinist) makes his big screen directorial return, having focused on helming for the small screen for the last few years. Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy, Michael Clayton) penned the screenplay.
While pre-production progresses on High Wire Act, Hamm is busy filming the Fox 2000 comedy Keeping Up With the Joneses. Meanwhile Pike’s indie thriller Return to Sender is slated to hit theaters in limited release on August 14.
High Wire Act is aiming for a January 2016 start date, with no release date secured as of yet.
