Rooney Mara Cast as Audrey Hepbrun in Apple Biopic

On Thursday, Variety confirmed that Rooney Mara would star in a biopic about the actress Audrey Hepburn happening at Apple.

The film will be directed by Luca Guadagnino, who previously helmed Suspiria, and the best picture nominated Call Me By Your Name. The script is being written by Michael Mitnick (who co-wrote The Giver), and Mara herself is also producing the film.

While no story details have been revealed yet, most people seem to be familiar with the work of Audrey Hepburn. She is considered a legend in the field, whose classic performances include My Fair Lady, Charade, Sabrina, and perhaps most famous, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Hepburn’s legendary career spanned over four decades; during that time, she was given several awards for her work in film. She was also a humanitarian who worked with UNICEF in 1992 to help children in third world nations.

Mara is undoubtedly not a lightweight when it comes to her dramatic performances. She has been nominated for two Academy Awards for her work in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Carol. She was most recently in Guillermo del Toro’s acclaimed Nightmare Alley.

Guadagnino has also been busy, having wrapped up the comic horror film Bones and All.

No production date has been announced.
