Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Harvey Keitel (Pulp Fiction), Joel David Moore (Avatar), along with Elias Koteas (The Thin Red Line), and Emma Ho (Code 8) are set to star in the upcoming action-drama The Baker, directed by Jonathan Sobol.
According to Deadline, The Baker will tell the story of a quiet, detached man, portrayed by Perlman, who lives alone by his own choice. When his estranged son (Moore) is killed in a drug deal, Perlman’s character is now left to look after his granddaughter (Ho) that he never knew existed. Along with Moore and Ho, Harvey Keitel will play Perlman’s long-time nemesis.
The film is being directed by Jonathan Sobol, whose directed films include The Padre, which stars Nick Nolte and Tim Roth, The Art of the Steal starring Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon, and A Beginners Guide to Endings with Scott Caan and Harvey Keitel. The Baker is written by Paolo Mancini and Thomas Michael, who also wrote and starred in the feature Hank and Mike starring Joe Mantegna. The film is being produced by collaborators Jason Jallet (Blue Iguana) and Doug Murray (The Immaculate Room), while John Hills and Andrew Chang-Sang (Stockholm) serve as executive producers.
