Robbie Amell (The Duff) will co-star opposite Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect) and Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas) in When We First Met, according to Variety.
The film follows Devine’s character Noah who, unfortunately after the perfect first night with his dream girl (Daddario), is friend-zoned. Fast forward three years later and he’s still hung up, unable to figure out what exactly went wrong – until an unexpected time-traveling opportunity presents itself. Noah, determined to fix whatever has relegated him to the friend zone, decides to tempt fate by traveling back to that first night, repeatedly.
When We First Met will be directed by Ari Sandel. This is the second time Amell has worked with Sandel, who previously directed The Duff. Production has begun already in New Orleans and Footprint Features, MXN, and Wonderland Sound and Vision will produce the film. When We First Met is also co-written by Devine and John Whittington.
Amell’s well-rounded reputation in Hollywood only seems to grow and is in high demand since his time on The Flash TV series as Ronnie Raymond a.k.a Deathstorm. His popularity and talent are reflected when you look at the upcoming year he will have. You can catch Amell in McG’s upcoming film The Babysitter and Kevin’s Spacey’s cat comedy Nine Lives which releases August 5th, 2016. Also, be on the lookout for Amell’s short film Code 8, a highly successful INDIEGOGO campaign he started with his cousin and Arrow series star Stephen Amell.
