Rob Zombie’s newest film has confirmed that a pivotal part of the film has wrapped shooting, mainly the scenes revolving around veteran actress Catherine Schell. Schell is coming out of a 30-year retirement from acting for the role of Zoya Krupp, a new addition to the Munster family. Reportedly, she is just one out of many other characters being added to the lore of the Munsters. Other characters include Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang (Richard Blake), Floop (Jorge Garcia), Barbara Carr (Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson), and Igor (Sylvester McCoy). Other frequent muses for Zombie are also present in the film, such as Sherri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, and Daniel Roebuck are already confirmed to be playing the principal parts of Lily, Herman, and Grandpa.
This announcement comes via a post on Instagram, where the director hails Schell as “our new Munster pal.” The actress is a veteran of the big and small screens. She could be seen in projects such as Doctor Who, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and The Return of the Pink Panther. In 1996, she officially retired from acting. Little is known how Zombie was able to pull her out of retirement.
This announcement also comes as a way to hint at the film’s imminent end of production, with a potential release window of Fall of this year on the streaming service Peacock with a surprising PG rating.
