Variety has confirmed the latest biopic about the life of Judy Garland will be distributed by Roadside Attractions as well as LD Entertainment. This year, the two companies are most known for the faith driven film, I Can Only Imagine, which superseded expectations by becoming one of the top grossing films of the genre.
Judy stars Bridget Jones‘ Renée Zellweger and chronicles the life of Judy Garland nearly 30 years after her rise to fame in the beloved The Wizard of Oz. It picks up in 1968 with the series of concerts Garland is set to perform as she must deal with a number of different situations including her final concerts in London while dealing with management battles, musicians she charms, reminiscing with friends and adoring fans, as well as the greatest adventure when she meets her fifth husband, Mickey Dean.
Directed by Rupert Goold, the film also stars Harry Potter’s Michael Gambon, Jessie Buckley (Taboo) and American Horror Story‘s Finn Wittrock. Judy is set to come out November 29, 2018.
