Indie films have exploded onto the mainstream, with various veteran actors and actresses lending their skills to the constantly growing scene. A new indie film titled The True Adventures of Wolfboy, has picked up two new actors in Jaeden Lieberher and John Turturro in the upcoming coming-of-age story, according to Variety. Lieberher starred in St. Vincent and will be one of the main actors in the upcoming horror flick It, while Turturro most recently starred in Transformers: The Last Knight and will star in The Big Lebowski spinoff titled Going Places later this year.
The True Adventures of Wolfboy will focus on a young boy who runs away from home in an attempt to find his mother. Little else has been stated about the film, but the cast is already quite large with supporting actors and actresses including Chloe Sevigny (Bloodline, Love & Friendship), Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies, The Knick), Chris Messina (Argo, The Mindy Project), Michelle Wilson, and Sophia Grace Gianni.
This will be Martin Krejci’s first-directed feature film, and will boast a script written by Olivia Dufault (Preacher). It is being produced by K Period Media. This leaves The True Adventures of Wolfboy in good hands, as it will be created by the team behind the critical darling, Manchester by the Sea. Filming will start up in September to allow a release sometime in 2018.
