Rian Johnson Reveals New Set Photo For ‘Star Wars Episode VIII’

Director Rian Johnson (Looper) posted new set photo from the currently filming Star Wars: Episode VIII. The photo was posted on Johnson’s Tumblr and features what appears to be green screen set with two projections of Lupita Nyong’o‘s CG alien character Maz Kanata, confirming the return of the character in the sequel. No other context or information has been given about the photo.

Much is to be speculated about the Episode VIII. Aside from missing a proper title, the film has gone through a massive rewrite that caused the film to be pushed back from a May 2017 release date to a December 2017 release. Many don’t seem to be worried, however, as they trust Johnson at the helm of director. His body of work include the cult classic Brick from 2005, time travel hit Looper, and several episodes of Breaking Bad, all of which were considered to be some of the best of the series.
