Recently director Jordan Peele has been shaping the landscape of horror cinema. The two horror movies he directed Get Out and Us were major critical and financial success. Peele is also the host and a writer for the reboot of The Twilight Zone, the producer of Lovecraft Country, and is currently working on the long awaited remake of Candyman.
Now according to Comic Book Resources Peele’s production company Monkeypaw Productions will be collaborating with Universal Pictures on a remake of the movie The People Under the Stairs. Peele will be serving as a producer on this new movie. The original movie The People Under the Stairs was a horror satire film that came out in 1991. It was written and directed by the late horror legend Wes Craven, who is of course best known for creating the A Nightmare on Elm Street film and Scream movie franchises.
The plot of the original movie was about a young boy nicknamed ‘Fool,’ played by Brandon Adams, whose family is about to be evicted by their landlords, the Robesons. Fool teams up with a pair of thieves in order to break into the Robeson’s house, but Fool quickly discovers that his landlords are hiding a sinister secret.
