Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard and Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page are set to join Ryan Gosling in the Russo Brothers’ The Gray Man alongside Chris Evans and Ana De Armas. Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush and Julia Butters are also in the cast
Joe and Anthony Russo have been working on the project for a while now, and this past summer when it went back on the market, Netflix was quick to buy it. As confirmed by Deadline, The Gray Man will be Netflix’s biggest-budget feature film.
The Gray Man is based on Mark Greany’s novel published in 2009 by Jove Books. It also is the first novel to feature the Gray Man, freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry. The action thriller will tell the story of Gentry (Gosling) as he’s hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a cohort at the CIA. The film is based on the first installment of the book series.
Thornton recently wrapped production on the fourth season of his Amazon series Goliath, as well as in the Sam Taylor-Johnson drama A Million Little Pieces. He is repped by WME, Media Talent Group and Myman Greenspan.
Regé-Jean Page is best known for his breakout role in the Netflix series Bridgerton, and he signed on to star in the Paramount’s untitled Dungeons & Dragons pic. He is repped by CAA, Mosaic, The Artists Partnership and Ziffren Brittenham.
The Gray Man is set to begin production in two weeks in Los Angeles.
