Red One At The Top Of The Box Office With 34 Million But Fails To Make Its Needed Splash, Venom Falls To Second

Red One landed its opening weekend at the top of the box, despite sitting at the top of the chart the 250 million dollar film is under-preforming for its anticipated opening week hopefuls. While not dragged by critics, the film was reviewed fairly in the middle ground, the needed word of mouth and interest just wasn’t there leading to only 34 million for its first weekend. Whether it can hold on and make a slow crawl towards breaking even or profitability will be seen as a massive slate for the Thanksgiving holiday is underway with Disney and Universal leading the pack for the upcoming weekends meaning there will be a lot of competition for any films not able to appeal to the wider audiences.

With Venom: The Last Dance dropping to 2nd, the Sony film will likely stay there or dip lower as the new releases for the holidays hit theaters. The film finishes its fourth week strong still with a total domestic gross of 128 million and overseas still hosting it in their theaters adding to its run.

Dropping to 3rd but staying on surprisingly strong is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the childrens book brought to screen has manged to eak out past Heretic once again as the horror film is just shy of passing the early Christmas flick. Christmas Pageant racked up a 5.4 million toping Heretic’s 5.2 Million.

The Wild Robot makes it another week in the top five with week 8 seeing the animated film gain another 4.3 to its total. The animated film makes itself a stronger contender for a possible Oscar.

Smile 2 stays in the top 10 again with the 6th place as the horror sequel brings home 3 million more. Conclave has also managed to keep drawing audiences with 2.9 million for its fourth week sitting at 7th.

A surprising newcommer to the list, Hello, Love, Again, snags itself the 8th spot for its debut week with 2.3 million and beats out A Real Pain which in its third week is at 2.3 million for this weekend for a total of 3 million.

Anora sits in at the 10th place with a solid 1.8 million in it’s fifth week with 11 million for the total.
