Dwayne Johnson has a lot to celebrate as the year comes to an end with another accomplishment of his latest film, Red Notice.
CNN Entertainment reports that it’s now the most-watched movie in Netflix history.
Red Notice gathered 328.8 million viewing hours, topping the previous record of Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box in 2018 with 282 million viewing hours. 50 percent of all Netflix’s subscribers around the world have already watched Red Notice. It surpassed the previously held record in just 18 days, contrasted to Bird Box, which took 4 weeks.
The film, starring Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, was produced by Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and released on the streaming site earlier this month. It remains in the top 10 films on the platform in 94 countries and was also released in theaters last weekend.
Red Notice follows the story of an FBI profiler played by Johnson, who is forced to partner with the world’s greatest art thief (Reynolds) in a heist in order to catch a most-wanted criminal (Gadot). The film is daring, funny, and sure to keep you on the edge of your seats with a seemingly unlikely trio coming together in this action-packed pic.
Be sure to catch Red Notice, now streaming on Netflix, or in theaters today!
