Not much has been stated on the reboot, particular one who would be attached to direct and write or even if the film will have some ties to the original movie or a complete remake all together.
It certainly sounds like a difficult tasks to reboot The Exorcist as it is a film that would certainly be hard to top if attempting to remake it.
