Netflix Tests New Shuffle Play Function Allowing Viewers To Watch Randomly Selected Titles

Especially during this time of quarantine, it may seem like you have run out of things to watch on Netflix. You’ve binged all the shows on your watch list, rewatched your favorites and then some. Now what?

Luckily for us, Netflix is one step ahead. The streaming service is in the process of testing out a new “Shuffle Play” button on the home page that allows viewers to watch randomly selected TV shows and movies. The button is located on the profile pages on TV devices only. It also appears below Netflix’s sidebar, below the “Search” and “Home” options.

If users choose to utilize this randomized option, instead of having to go through Netflix’s entire collection of titles to find something new to watch, the streaming service will offer a random title.

Testing for the button began back in July. According to TechCrunch, the first to report the news of the new button, Netflix implemented the shuffle button to help users more efficiently find new content that is tailored to their viewing preferences.

While it is still unknown whether Netflix will decide to keep the new feature, for the time being, if you’re ever bored in the house and want something new to watch, consider trying out the new “Shuffle Play” button. You just never know what hidden gems you may discover.
