The Children of the Corn will be released into two theaters in Sarasota, which is in the state of Florida. Bloody Disgusting reported that the poster and some images of The Children of the Corn were revealed.

The Children of the Corn is of course based on the horror story written by Stephen King. In the book a husband and wife arrive in a small town in rural Nebraska where they discover that there are not any adults in the town. However the town is inhabited by vicious children and teenagers who worship a demon that demands human sacrifice. King’s story was adapted into a movie in 1984, which then spawned several sequels.

This new movie will not be a direct adaptation of the story, but instead it will be a prequel to the story of the 1984 movie.
