The sequel to the 2019 breakout horror thriller feature Ready or Not is to be released in theaters on April 10th, 2026. This was confirmed by the studio, Searchlight Pictures, on Thursday.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come sees the return of Samara Weaving as Grace interacting with a whole new cast of characters. The ensemble includes Elijah Wood, Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Durand, David Cronenberg, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, and Olivia Cheng.
Radio Silence filmmaking duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back in the directors’ chairs for this second feature, as are the original writers, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Producers for the sequel are Tripp Vinson, William Sherak, Bradley Fischer, and James Vanderbilt. Weaving, Busick, and Murphy are all named as executive producers alongside Chad Villella, Paul Neinstein, Greg Denny, and Tara Farney. Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh will be overseeing the production under Searchlight.
The first feature, Ready or Not, was a commercial success, grossing around $28 million at the domestic box office and more than $57 million worldwide, blowing its original budget of $6 million out of the water. The original film followed Weaving’s character, Grace, “a bride who learns of her new family’s wedding night ritual where a murderous game is played, all to appease an ancient family deal with the devil.”
It is hard to tell if this sequel will be as much of a success as its predecessor because the synopsis is still under wraps. It will only be on April 10th of next year when all questions about this second installment will be answered.
