Ray Liotta is an actor of many skills and tools, as he has been part of a variety of different types of media, including films (Goodfellas, Narc), television (Smith, Our Family Honor, Shades of Blue), and even video games (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City). The storied actor has officially joined the cast of an indie film titled Cutman, according to Deadline, a darker film that will focus on gangsters and lawlessness, something that Liotta is very accustomed to considering his previous films.
Cutman tells the story of an older former boxer who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Now, he works the dangerous part-time job as an enforcer for a group of mobsters. He is constantly plagued with horrific pain and distress due to the memory of the death of his “cutman,” the person in a boxing game that is responsible for looking after the various injuries sustained by the boxer. He wishes to die in peace until he meets a father and his daughter that changes his life forever, maybe not for the best as they want vengeance, and having him rethink the meaning of his life.
Liotta is currently the only actor connected to the film, but it has been confirmed that the film is being directed by Michael Mailer with a script penned by Tiffany Heath. The movie has not begun filming just yet, but we can expect shooting to start as soon as more actors and actresses are signed on to the project.
