Randall Park (ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat) has been announced to play S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the title roles. The sequel’s cast also includes Hannah John-Kamen (Black Mirror) in an as-yet unspecified role, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Michael Peña as Luis. The news was first reported by The Tracking Board.
Peyton Reed returns to helm the sequel from a script by Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari. The plot is being kept under wraps. Marvel’s Kevin Feige is producing. 2015’s Ant-Man grossed more than $500 million worldwide.
Park stars on ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat and has a recurring role in HBO’s Veep. He also was in a 2014 comedy with Rudd entitled They Came Together. He recently appeared in Snatched and The House, and upcoming he will be seen in The Disaster Artist with James Franco.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
