Priyanka Chopra (Quantico) is currently in talks to star alongside Chris Pratt in Universal Picture’s adaption of Cowboy Ninja Viking. The film is based off the ten-issue action-comedy comic series published by Image Comics, written by A.J. Lieberman and illustrated by Riley Rossmo.
The series focuses on a counter-intelligence unit that specializes in reprogramming patients with Multiple Personality Disorder into agents and assassins. Each agent, or Triplet, is programmed to maintain three distinct personalities within their minds, allowing them to possess all the skills and abilities commonly affiliated with their archetypes.
Michelle MacLauren, whose previous directorial experience includes episodes of Game of Thrones and Westworld, will be directing Cowboy Ninja Viking. This will mark MacLaren’s second theatrical directorial entry, following the release of the war drama The Nightingale next January. Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) and Ryan Engle (Rampage) wrote the movie’s script, although The Hangover Part II writer Craig Mazin had drafted an earlier screenplay.
Pratt will star as Duncan, the lead assassin who possesses the skills of a cowboy, ninja and viking. Chopra will be playing Pratt’s love interest, though her character has yet to be specified. The film is currently set for a theatrical release on June 28, 2019.
