Universal is debuting the latest entry in their blockbuster franchise, Jurassic World: Rebirth, stomping into theaters just before the Fourth of July kicks in. On top of the promise of a walk in a dinosaur-filled park, viewers will also get the very first look at Christopher Nolan’s newest film, The Odyssey, with the first proper poster released for it as well.
As the title suggests, Nolan’s newest film recaptures the story of Homer’s The Odyssey, one of the most fabled stories in human history. It follows a soldier coming home after the Trojan war, only to find that the world he left behind isn’t what he remembers it. If he wants to reclaim what it is, he has to overcome larger than life challenges, each more deadly than the last.
The poster itself opts to show just enough to convey the contents of the movie without showing too much. All that’s depicted is the head of a statue as ash billows around it, accompanied by the tagline “defy the gods.”
When reporting about the poster, Collider made a speculative note about the tagline. Despite what’s currently attached to the poster, there’s a likelihood that it will change once the next poster gets revealed, lining up with the grand scale the movie is going for.
The Odyssey hits theaters July 17th, 2026.
