The first trailer for Pixar’s ‘Hoppers’ is here. The film is set to hop into theaters on March 6, 2026 and will be Pixar’s 30th film. Daniel Chong is the director of the project and he also penned the script along with Jesse Andrews.
Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm were among the first announced voice cast members, with Curda playing the lead as Mabel. In the trailer, Mabel barges into her professor’s classroom looking for help on a project, only to swiftly find out that humans are about to understand animals better than ever. Her professor details a new advanced technology that will allow humans to transfer their consciousness into robotic animals and upon hearing this, Mabel hooks herself up to the technology and switches her consciousness; referred to as hopping, into an artificial beaver.
Mabel now able to understand all animals, not just beavers, is introduced to Bobby Moynihan’s character King George; With a little crown to boot. King George discusses the pond rules with Mabel and shows off that he seemingly knows the name of every animal in their neck of the woods. Mabel is shown then beginning to ignites an uprising within the animal world, pronouncing:
“Fellow animals, the humans have stolen their last inch of land from us.”
She is then shown compared to a “Joan of Arc” figure for the animals by a human, and it is at this point in the trailer her professor tells her she is misusing the technology, but Mabel goes offline. The animal council is summoned and it includes an insect queen voiced by Meryl Streep. The queen stirs the animals even more, telling them it is time to get their revenge and “squish” the humans. The trailer shows us Mabel responding pushing back against this, not wanting to resort to violence. At the end of the trailer herself and another beaver break into Mayor Jerry’s car. She utilizes text to speech to advise Jerry, voiced by Jon Hamm, that he is in danger and this is where things end off for now.
The voice cast will also include Dave Franco, Kathy Najimy, Eduardo Franco, Melissa Villaseñor, Ego Nwodim, Vanessa Bayer, Sam Richardson, Aparna Nancherla, Nichole Sakura, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Steve Purcell, Karen Huie, and Tom Law.
