Disney Pixar plans to release the new children’s movie Elemental. The movie is directed by Peter Sohn, director of The Good Dinosaur and Partly Cloudy, and produced by Denise Ream, who also produced The Good Dinosaur and Cars 2.
The story is inspired by Sohn’s Childhood in New York, after emigrating from Korea in the early 1970s and his family building a “bustling grocery store in the Bronx.” When speaking about the movie, Sohn says
“We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams—all of us mixing into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages, and beautiful little neighborhoods. That’s what led me to Elemental.”
The story follows two characters, Ember and Wade, in a city where the four elements: Water, fire, land, and air co-exist together. Ember and Wade learn about each other and figure out what they have in common as they experience the different elements.
When describing the elements Sohn says “Some elements mix with each other, and some don’t. What if these elements were alive?”
Pixar plans to release Elemental on June 16th, Father’s day weekend, and prepare for a huge rollout of the big film.
