Pharrell Williams to Narrate in Dr. Suess’s ‘The Grinch’ by Illumination and Universal

According to an exclusive by Deadline, Pharrell Williams, the award-winning musician behind “Happy,” has officially been cast as the Narrator behind the upcoming animated version of Dr. Suess’s The Grinch by Illumination and Universal Pictures.

Other musicians have taken roles within the film’s development alongside Williams. Tyler, the Creator has written the song “I Am the Grinch” which will be performed in the film, and composer Danny Elfman has composed the score for the whole film as well as worked with Tyler, the Creator to create a new version of “You’re a Mean One.”

Both Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney are set to direct the film, and the cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch (the Grinch), Angela Lansbury (The Mayor of Whoville), Rashida Jones, Keenan Thompson, and Cameron Seely.

The most recent version of the classic Christmas story is set for release on November 9, 2018.
